This Privacy Policy explains how lookaround (“lookaround,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services. lookaround is operated by unfoundbox (unfoundbox.com).
Who we are
lookaround helps you find online conversations where people are asking for the kind of product you sell, and drafts suggested replies. To do this we analyze a product URL or description you provide and search public sources across the web.
Information we collect
- Google account data. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account, as permitted by the scopes you approve on the Google consent screen.
- Content you submit. The product URLs or descriptions you enter, the search queries we derive from them, and any refinements you make.
- Technical and usage data. Basic information such as your browser type and interactions with the app, used to operate and improve the service.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- authenticate you and maintain your account;
- run searches, rank results by buying intent, and draft suggested replies; and
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
How we use Google user data
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- we use Google user data only to provide and improve the features described above;
- we do not sell Google user data;
- we do not use Google user data for advertising; and
- we do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless we have your consent, it is necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
Third parties we share data with
To deliver a search, we send the product information you provide and the queries we derive from it to the following service providers:
- LLM providers (Anthropic, or OpenRouter) — to derive target communities and keywords, rank results, and draft replies.
- Source APIs — Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, GitHub, and Apify (which covers X, Quora, LinkedIn, and Dev.to) — to find relevant public threads.
- Supabase — our database provider, used to persist searches and results.
We do not share your Google account data with these providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request access to or deletion of your personal data, including your Google account data, by emailing privacy@unfoundbox.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Children
lookaround is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
