lookaround

Frequently asked questions

What lookaround is, how it works, and how your data is handled.

What is lookaround?

lookaround finds online conversations where people are already asking for the kind of product you sell, and drafts a suggested reply for each. You paste a product URL or description, and it searches public discussions across eight platforms, ranked by buying intent.

How does lookaround find leads?

A language model reads your product and derives the communities and buyer-intent keywords worth watching, then searches those platforms for matching threads. Each conversation is scored by how strongly it signals someone looking for a solution like yours.

Which platforms does it search?

Eight in total. Reddit, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, and GitHub are queried directly through their APIs. X (Twitter), Quora, LinkedIn, and Dev.to are reached via Apify, which searches them for matching public posts.

How much does lookaround cost?

It is free to use. Anonymous visitors get a few searches per day and see the top results. Signing in with Google raises your daily limit and unlocks the full result set, with a reply drafted for the strongest matches and one-click drafting for the rest.

Do I need an account?

No. You can run a few searches without signing in. An account (via Google sign-in) is only needed to raise your daily limit and see the complete results.

Does lookaround post replies for me?

No. lookaround only drafts a suggested reply that you can copy, edit, and post yourself. It never posts on your behalf, so you stay in control of every interaction.

How are results ranked?

Each conversation is scored by buying intent — how strongly it suggests someone is actively looking for, comparing, or asking for a recommendation for a product like yours. The strongest matches are surfaced first.

Is my data shared?

To run a search, the product information you provide and the queries derived from it are sent to language-model and source providers. Your Google account data is not shared with them. See the Privacy Policy for details.
